This will be Forma’s first international training camp but it has been many years in the making. With over 8 years experience as a global leader in Gymnastic Fitness, we are bringing our first class coaches & training methods to a sunny and idyllic winter training location situated in Portugal’s beautiful Algarve.
3 daily coaching sessions including: Gymnastic Conditioning, Flexibility and Mobility, Handstands, Cardio sessions and Qi Gong.
Stunning location to train in, spacious rooms, open air and indoor swimming pools, gym, onsite massage and a great range of sports facilities.

On Day 1 of the camp, during the 1st conditioning session, we will asses your current level of flexibility (both passive and active levels), joint mobility, bodyweight strength, kineasthetic awareness and general level of fitness.
Based on these assessments and your feedback during the first session, the group will be split by ability for the gymnastic conditioning and handstand training thereon. We will be able to focus on improving your current strengths and building up your weakness in a targeted manner.
Handstands will focus on building good alignment and a solid free standing handstand first, for those of a higher ability Press Handstands and one arm prep are on the menu.
For the conditioning we will be building upon basic preparation of bodyweight strength as well as utilising complementary weight training drills. For example, for those unable to perform pull ups, beside the use of other bodyweight progressions, we will build the necessary strength using a range of weight training exercises. For those of a higher ability, we will focus on more specific lever movements as well as Rings strength.
Each day will start with a morning movement session outside by the pool before breakfast. After breakfast we’ll head over to the indoor fitness centre for our main 2 hour conditioning session, after which we will break for lunch then relax and recovery by the beach, pool or spa. At 4pm we’ll meet outside either by the pool or on the lawn, for our flexibility and handstand sessions and see the wonderful Algarve sunsets.

The Alfamar Hotel is a long established 3 star sports hotel overlooking the sea and cliffs, right on the beach front. It has open air and indoor pools, sauna, gym and track. All rooms are booked on a bed & breakfast basis, half-board options also available for daily dinners.
Its extensive facilities and location are used by National Athletic squads from all over the world, so don’t be surprised if you bump into a National or Olympic champion at breakfast. The resort is now 40 years old, it was built for purpose as both a holiday resort and winter training facility for amateur and elite athletes. The hotel has a somewhat dated feel in decor due to its age, however the facilities are very clean and spacious.
Options for accommodation:
Hotel Rooms – Single or double/twin share, all have separate bathroom, satellite TV, air-conditioning, heating, balcony or terrace. The hotel has several bars and restaurants
Villas –Single or double/twin share, set in the gardens of the hotel, anything from 1 to 5 minutes walk from the main hotel. All have separate bathroom, lounge with satellite TV and heating.
